What career-related subject or topic have you been working on or studying this term?
Since last year I have been working on my thesis project named "Nursing care of patients with Thrombolytic Therapy". This project was born on my personal interest for research in intensive and emergency nursing care and specially for cardiovascular diseases.
It´s about one of the acute myocardial infarction treatment and most useful in chilean public health. Since 2005 was included in the AUGE law, and it´s very important for keeping the people´s health, opportunities and dignity.
The thesis included a qualitative perspective to this treatment.
I introduced myself in this area with the help of my responsible tutor at Universidad de Chile and the emergency nurse managers in Santiago city as well as my own interest in this area, visiting heart deseases websites, papers and investigations.
I would like to know how we could less effectively the heart disease in own country and all the non-transmissible diseases associated with to harmful life styles. Also how we could help for optimizing the nursing practice in the Thrombolytic Therapy , specially listening opinions of all involucrated people, like nurses, doctors, patients and patient´s family.
Some websites in relation with this topic are:
www.americanheart.org

Nursing

How did you become interested in your area of study? What motivates you to continue learning about your career?
My interest for nursing began in high school, because I always loved the biology and social sciences subjects and this career have relation with that.
When I was acepted in my actual univesity, I was very happy and proud to myself because is very difficult to gain admittance. For this reason I´m always being motivate to continue learning and also for give to the patients the best health care posible.

Song

I choose a song called "Love is strong" of Rolling Stones. It´s a beautiful rock song for listening when you are falling in love to something, specially when he is overseas. It was record in 1995 and you can find it in the Forty Licks album.
I love this song because is melodic and the lyrics it makes me sense.
LYRICS
Love is strong
and you´re so sweet
You make me hard
you make me weak
Love is strong and youre so sweet
and some day, babe we got to meet
A glimpse of you was all it took
A strangers glance it got me hooked
And I followed you across the stars
I looked for you in seedy bars
What are you scared of, baby
Its more than just a dream
I need some time
We make a beautiful team
Beautiful team
Question 1

What is something you should throw away, but can´t?
I would like to throw away my mobile phone because I hate depends on it, take it all the time and to charge it, but I can´t because is useful, for example when I have a problem and I need to find someone for help.
Anyway when I take a holiday it´s run the risk to disappear.
